Mrs Sola Kosoko, the new General Manager, Lagos Television (LTV)

Mrs Adesola Ibironke Kosoko, the acting General Manager, Lagos Television, has been confirmed in a substantive capacity by the Governor of Lagos State, Mr Babajide Olusola Sanwo – Olu.

The Governor’s confirmation of the ace broadcaster’s appointment was contained in a letter signed by the Head of Service, Mr Hakeem Muri – Okunola, dated Tuesday, August 8, 2023.

THE IMPACT broke the news yesterday as soon as the confirmation was made.

Kosoko will be replacing Mrs Siju Alabi who was sacked by the governor in June.

In the confirmation letter that THE IMPACT was privileged to see, the Head of Service, stated:

“I am pleased to convey the approval of Mr. Babajide Sanwo – Olu, the Governor of Lagos State, of your appointment as General Manager, Lagos State Television, with effect from 8 August, 2023”, the letter stated.

“In appointing you, the State Government expects you to demonstrate a high level of dedication, diligence and selflessness in the discharge of your duties, to justify the confidence and trust reposed in you by Mr Governor.

“Accept my hearty congratulations”.

The ace broadcaster, who was appointed as the acting GM, following the sack of Mrs Peju Alabi in June, last duty post was Director, Content Control and Operations of Lagos Television.

Adesola Kosoko started her broadcasting career around 1998, with Radio Lagos /Eko FM, as an On – Air – Presenter (OAP).

She was selected after an audition to become the new face of Lagos State Television (LTV), and this changed the looks and feels of the station and made it the toast of everyone during the era of Mr Jimi Odumosu who was then the General Manager trying to rebrand the TV station and was in search of a face and talent for the TV station. Adesola Kosoko, who is now the new substantive GM of LTV, then became the face of the TV and anchored the station’s flagship programs, ‘AM Saturday Live’.

After some years in radio and a stint at the television station, she crossed over to the Lagos Television in 2001.

Kosoko led the female team on a most watched LTV programme called ‘Edition 12’, which ushered in the era of talk shows of all today’s LTV discussion TV shows. She had anchored over 15 LTV flagship talk shows, and had read the flagship news on prime time.

Adesola Kosoko has headed all the production and content Directorates of Lagos State Television in her 25 years in LTV, which makes her the most experienced person that had served in all of the departments and directorates of Lagos State Television station.

She is an experienced on sight/ ground reporter, on air television presenter, an in-depth script writer, an editor/ motion picture analyst, an eloquent master of ceremony and a proficient team leader per excellent with television and radio broadcasting experiences.

The new General Manager, Lagos State Television, Kosoko Adesola Ibironke, has over 25 years’ experience in broadcasting, working in both radio and television as an on air presenter and content provider.

Her area of specialisation are in program presentation, content conceptualization and development, broadcasting management, still pictures/motion picture production, scripts, writing, planning, administration of content transmission in television and radio broadcast.

She is a professional voice – over artist with over 70 brands in her portfolio and a master of ceremony of repute. She had worked with brands and names, both locally and internationally, as team or as the main anchor.
